No secret that the Pacific Northwest has one of the nation’s best economies, where its brightest city is seeing the country’s fastest housing-price appreciation. Welcome to Oregon, 2016. In May its unemployment rate was 4.5 percent, the lowest since modern record keeping began in the 1970s.
